The Raptor Conservation Society (RCS) has always been committed to contributing to the conservation of birds of prey and biodiversity both in and around conservation areas. The raptor diversity reflects biodiversity richness possessed by country is then know as one of the ‘hot spots’ for world biodiversity conservation efforts.
We focus on threatened raptors species (Nisaetus bartelsi and Nisaetus floris) as key indicators of ecosystem health, work with local people to prevent their extinction, increase our understanding about their needs in a rapidly changing nature, and ensure that resources are directed to and invested in building capacity and strengthening local community group, in areas where they are most needed and where raptor extinctions can be preempted.
